Most ideas don't need a plan. They need somewhere to wait.
A bookshop that only opens when it rains. A notebook of questions with no answers. Dinner with a different decade. You don't want to start any of them today, but you don't want to lose them either.
That's what Unfinished is for.
A shelf, not a to-do list#
There are no due dates and no checkboxes. You write the idea down, add a few notes if you like, and put it on the shelf. File it under A thought, Someday, A question or An experiment, or make up a category of your own.
When an idea has been on your mind too long, move it to Resting. It's not gone, just out of the way.
Coming back to them#
- Rediscover pulls out a random idea from either shelf, for when you want to be surprised by something you once thought of.
- Search finds a thought by any word in it.
- Graph shows every idea as a map, clustered and coloured by category, so you can see what you keep coming back to.
- Every idea gets its own page, a clean place to read it again.
Yours, and only yours#
There's no account. Your ideas stay in your browser and are never sent to a server. To move them to another device, Export a backup and Import it there. Importing adds new ideas without touching the ones you already have.
It also follows your system's light or dark mode, and works entirely from the keyboard.
Why unfinished?#
Because most good things start that way. The point isn't to finish every idea. It's to keep the ones worth coming back to.
